The Takeo Murata Collection

"Hand Forged Black Samurai Blades for the Kitchen"

Takeo Murata Knife Collection

CarbonCrNiMoVTungsten
1.150.4---------1.0 to 1.5

Those gorgeous black topped (Kurochi finished) knives are hand made from famed Yasuki steel also known as Aogami No 1 blue steel by revered Takeo Murata. This is performance steel that is incredibly rich in Carbon and Tungsten. With a Rockwell hardness rating approaching 64 these blades can take and hold a scary sharp edge even through heavy use. Yet they are easy to resharpen and have good rust resistance for a high carbon knife. The handle is a western grip suitable for both right and left hand use. It is comfortable and nearly indestructible wood and resin mix. It feels good right away and looks awesome paired with the black Kurochi finished blade.

Takeo Murata is famous for his craftsmanship and ability to forge knives with excellent balance, sharpness and stark beauty. They are becoming very limited in availability. His custom bespoke knives can cost several thousand $'s if you are very fortunate. I have arranged with Murata to have 4 special Kanji marked on each knife to honor the master. These black beauties are a favorite of Japanese knife aficionado's, foodies and chefs alike. Compliments & questions will arise when you showcase and use a Murata in your kitchen with their rustic Samurai appearance and super sharp grey/blue Yasuki steel.
